To Dawn Hedrick:

I am not sure we are from the same Ingels, but perhaps it is possible. My oldest Ingels relative that I feel I have reliable data on is Joseph Ingels who was born around 1790. He may have been from either PA or MD. His wife was Nancy Crooks who was from Baltimore or that area. After his marriage he lived in Meigs co. in Ohio. Late in life he moved to far southeast Iowa. We think his father was George Ingels and maybe the wife of George was Mary Ramey. We cannot confirm this.

Joseph and Nancy had a son William born in 1813 who married Elizabeth Nash in 1834. They lived Nodaway County in MO. William and Elizabeth had a son, Alexander S Ingels who was my great-grandfather.

I do not think this line is related to the Drapers. I read the book, Follow the River, and another account of Mary Ingles who escaped from Indian captivity. The other acccount lists a whole batch of descendents. None of the names are relatives of mine.
