Jason,
We know very little about my husband's grandfather William Ingles. I think that the two Williams have been mixed together. They both lived at the same time and in the same area. I am sure they are related, but don't know how. In our William Ingles's will he names only two children--Matthew and Ann. He died in 1782 in Montgomery Co., Va. A copy of his will was passed down thru the Higgins family. This copy is now in The McClung Library in Knoxville,Tn. Ann Ingles married a Higgins. We have not determined his name. Their son John married Martha Skaggs. They moved to Knox Co., Tn. and Williamson Co.Tn. John died in Williamson Co. in 1809 and Martha then moved to Roane Co. Tn. They had several children. My husband descends from their son Albert. We know nothing about Matthew Ingles. In his will William states that Matthew is to have his clothes if he comes within 12 months. I have never been able to find anything on him. Send me your line and I will see if I have anything that might help you. We traveled to Va. several years ago and visited with a descendant of the other William. She still owned the land where his ferry was located.
Nell Carter
