A biography/family history of Chester R. Ingle is included in "Montana, Its Story and Biography", Vol 2. The founder of the Ingle family in America came from Holland. The maternal line is of Irish descent. Chester was born, 4 May 1880, to John H. & Mary (McChesney) Ingle, b. 1854, Virginia & 1859, Troy, New York, respectively. When a small child, John moved with his parents to Tennessee and was brought up and educated there. As a young man, he located to Burt, Kossuth County, Iowa, where he farmed and engaged in the mercantile business. Moved his family to Guymon, OK, in 1891. Children: Guy, Liberal, KS; Chester R.; Roy, Omaha, NE; Olive (Mrs. William Brown), Witchita, KS; Ruth. Chester graduated from Liberal Kansas high school in 1898; attended normal school at Stockton, Kansas; 1904, graduated from Campbell University in Holton, Kansas, with a degree of Bachelor of Laws. Opened a law office in Liberal, Kansas, where he practiced for seven years, and then located to Bremerton, Washington, in 1911. In 1913, he moved to Billings, Montana, where he practiced law. He had a ranch 12 miles northwest of Billings where he raised grain. In 1907, Stockton, Kansas, Chester married Miss Elizabeth Bartholomew, daughter of Elan and Rachel (Montgomery) Bartholomew of Stockton. Ingle children: Chester, b. 30 Jan 1911, Washington. The 1930 Federal Census shows C.R, Elizabeth F., and Chester living in Boulder, CO. Chester R. Ingle died 31 Jan 1949, Thermopolis, Wyoming Chester B. Ingle, (son) died 29 Jul 2002, Thermopolis, Hot Springs, Wyoming. I am not related. Notify Administrator about this message?
