I am looking for information on these people from the early 1700s in Hunterdon Co, NJ...
Joseph Burcham was born to James Burcham and Elizabeth Woodhouse in the Northampton area. James died in 1709 and Elizabeth married Jonas Ingham. I assume Elizabeth died around 1724, because that is when John Haines of Evesham became Joseph's guardian.
So, my question is: Why was John Haines appointed as Joseph's guardian instead of Jonas Ingham?
I am hoping that somebody might be able to glean something from your Ingham family info (such as Jonas had tons of kids to take care of already, for example...I don't know).
Also, I am looking for the area where Jonas and Elizabeth lived. I assume Amwell in Hunterdon County but I would like some confirmation. Also I am looking for as specific of an area as possible.
I hope somebody can help me!
