William Ingham

Hello All and best regards to you.

I have recently received, via the Royal Hospital School Association website, a request for help tracing information about one William Ingham. This request from his daughter Yvonne Ingham Jordan from Albuquerque NM USA.

Apparently Yvonne's mother died when she was a baby and father passed her on to relatives. She subsequently lost all touch with him.

William's birth date is June 30th 1897 England and there is a copy of his Marriage Certificate dated 1920. William was a former pupil at GRHS and I have a scan from his presentation Bible dated 20 (month?) 1912. Yvonne has anecdotal evidence that he served with the Royal Marines (RMLI or RMA unknown) in the Great War, possibly in the Dardenelles. CWGC does not list any William Ingham (RN/RM) for any conflict.

I imagine Yvonne is advanced in years now and she would like to establish some sort of 'tree' for her younger family. As General Gecretary of the RHSA I would very much like to offer her some support. May I please cast myself upon your collective wisdom and good nature and request some helpful pointers, please.

Sincerely,

Patrick
