Carl Frederick10 Ingham, b. 1936, is a son of Hepburn9 and Frances Cooper (Hepburn). The line of descent is Joseph1 Ingham (of Saybrook, Conn.), Ebenezer2, Joseph3-4, Samuel5, Harvey6, William Harvey7, Harvey8, Hepburn9, Carl Frederick10. But if your son-in-law is the latter man, why is he called Jr.? Harvey8 Ingham was the famous longtime editor of the Des Moines Register. On his career, see the book by George Mills, "Harvey Ingham and Gardner Cowles, Sr.: Things Don't Just Happen" (Ames, Iowa: Iowa St. Univ. Pr., 1977).
I am most anxious to contact descendants of Hepburn Ingham (and his brothers), as I have nothing past the names of his children for my book of the Ingham genealogy under preparation for the publisher. Please respond to me by e-mail.
