Samuel Delucenna Ingham was a descendant of Jonas1 Ingham of Trenton, N.J. Jonas came over from Yorkshire, England (perhaps the parish of Halifax) in 1706. His son Jonathan2 Ingham settled in Bucks Co. This family was written up by the late Carmack Waterhouse in two books. There exists also a pamphlet biography of Samuel by his son. Not only was Ingham County, Mich., named for S.D.I. but also a Coast Guard cutter which is still afloat as a museum piece in the harbor of Charleston, S.C.
