Very glad to reach a descendant of Samuel G. Ingham! Samuel Griswold6 Ingham was born in Lakeport, Madison Co., N.Y., on 19 april 1840 and died in Plant City, Fla., 9 March 1918 (buried in North Plant City). He was a son of Alanson5 Ingham (Amasa4 of Saybrook, Conn., Daniel3, Ebenezer2, Joseph1). Earlier genealogies got the line wrong; see the corrections in my TAG article of 1993. Alanson5 was a brother of the founders of Ingham University. His father Amasa's oil portrait now hangs in the Frank Stevenson Archives in Old Saybrook.
My information was that Samuel G. married first, about 1865, Ellen Thatcher (you have a different name for the first wife). That he m.(2) 1872 Mary Ann (Botting) Ellsworth and after a divorce m. (3) Delia A. Botting alias Ellsworth. This is bothersome, as the third wife would be his own stepdaughter! Let's compare notes.
My information about Samuel G.'s children, coming mostly from his Civil War pension file and from the 1880 Census, also seems to differ from yours. What is your descent? Please contact me by e-mail.
