Nancy E./C. Shropshire was born (accrdg to census) approx 1807-1816 in New Jersey. Her birth date posted at GenForum was August 31, 1806 in Port Elizabeth, Cumberland Co., NJ. I believe she was the daughter of Sarah/Sally & Ralph Shropshire, but I have not proven it yet.

Nancy was married 4 times; having only had one son with Ingersoll and two children with Cleckner, Sarah born 1844 & John Thomas born 11846 but he died before 1850 census. A daughter may have been adopted, as 1880 census lists Lessie/Susie as a single sister residing with Nancy's dau, Sarah Penrose (see census below).

->NOTE: I found Nancy's husb Samuel living w/ Thomas & Mary Strawn in Canton, Benton Co, IA census. Sam died 1887 and was buried at Strawn Cem., Linn Co., Iowa. I don't know what his connection was to the Strawn family.
