I have a burial record that puts Deborah Ingersoll, wife of Hiram Chase being buried in 1872 in the Highland Cemetery, Corning, Steuben, New York.
Simon Ingersoll and Deborah Sutherland have a daughter Deborah ingersoll but her death date is 3 SEP 1846. Does anyone know of any other Ingersolls that she could belong to?
My Grandma has always said that she and my grandfather were cousins through the Ingersolls. She is descended from Deborah and Hram through their son Lluellin Legrand Chase. My Grandfather was descended from Jane Adell Ingersoll and Emery Isaac Bouck of Litchfield New York. Jane was born in 10 Jan 1852 and is daughter of Charles P Ingersoll and Mary Polly Russell.
Do you think there is any validity to the claim that these two families are closely related? I suspect my grandma says that just because of the last name but I don't know.
If you have any idea if they could be closely related or who Deborah belongs to please let me know.
