D: Mar 1648, while traveling to Boston on horseback, he was drowned in the Saugus River, owing to a
defective bridge. His heirs recovered damages from the town. This may have been the first claim of that
sort in NE. His will was probated 9/16/1648.

BIO: Removed to Salem, MA in 1628 in Gov. Endicott's Company in 1628. With his brother Francis and
four others he commenced the settlement of Lynn MA in 1629. Court record shows on 20 APR 1646 he
was fined for bringing home sticks in both his arms on the Sabbath, (gathering firewood) as accused by
three witnesses. The estate appraised at 135 pounds. He must have been prosperous because he left
three houses, land in MA and ENG, money and farm animals. per Ingalls Fam, by C.

BIO: Ann bore Edmund 5 children previous to the emiration. To solicit settlers to develop trade, the land
company offered 10 acres free to settlers. If they paid their own passage it was 50 acres. The joint

bio. Edmund [1] Ingalls, son of aforesaid Robert, and grandson or perhaps great grandson of Henry, was
b prob abt 1588 at Skirbeck Lincolnshire. On 7 jun 1618 at the Church of St. Nicholas, Skirbeck, Edmond
Ingalls and Annis Telbe were married. Annis is an equivalent form of Ann [also sometimes Agnes and
even Hannah] and Telbe would apparently be a varient of Tealby, the name of a village in Lincolnshire.

moved to Renssalaerville, SW of Albany, where he resided until 1803. Then went to Hartwick, Otsego Co
to be near brother Jacob Bliss and wife's bro Steven INGALLS who was there by 1791. Neighbors were
FIELD, STEELE, WINSOR. The area was very sparsely settled and the paths from one settlement to
another being merely blazed trees.

Lakelands was passed to heirs of the estate, and sums of money were left to various
colleges and Presbyterian churches. He endowed the Schuyler Bliss Steere
Scholarship Fund, the interest of which was used by persons desiring to become
ministers or missionaries. He was a cotton broker at Columbus MS after 1865, per the
