I recently acquired a transcript of a manuscript written by Susan (Fairbank) Whiting, wife of Newell Whiting. In it, she refers to Uncle Daniel and Aunt Rilla (probably short for Aurilla). This Daniel and Aurilla are ancestors of Leslie Lee Whiting and Arther Leland Whiting who married Ingalls sisters who were cousins of Laura Ingalls Wilder.
She also mentions several of Newell's relatives (Amos, Sewell, Ethan, Ellis, and others) which are in my line, but I have always been puzzled about Daniel and Aurilla and where they fit into the picture.
