Thanks for your reply.
I have acquired quite a lot of info on this subject, but would appreciate it if you will pass on what you know.
Do you have any info on present descendants of the family in Indonesia, even if the Balneavis name is now extinct in that part of the world e.g. Henrietta's family?
The Henry Balneavis you mention was born in Perthshre, Scotland and was married in Holland in 1780 - he was an officer in The Scots Brigade in Holland, a branch of the Scottish/British army based in the Netherlands for over 200 years. Another branch of the family, Henry Colin Baleavis, a grandson of the above Henry, took part in the Maori Wars in New Zealand and subsequenty settled there in the mid 19C.
I have details of this family in Scoland going back to the early 16C.
