Dear Ms Ludy van Broekhuizen,
I have to admit I had forgotten where I had posted that notice of mine, and only found it (and your reply) by accident the other night. I have progressed very little since posting that notice, however, I have found some information that may assist me in my quest.
I have found out that my grand-father Ernst ten Cate was married 4 times. I also believe that he died in 1967. My grand-mother, Henriette Theodore Francois Wilhelmine Johan, married him when she was 19, and had two sons to him. This married did not last long and she apparently left him after catching him cheating with her friend. Another of his wives was a "Adolphina Elizabeth Albertina van Eeden. I believe she had a least one daughter and one son, Jose and Joan Pieter.
I have some Indonesian papers but I am yet to get them translated. They may provide with more information.
I would like to think that you and I are referring to the same ten Cate family. Is the book that you refer to a published book, available for purchase, or are you referring to your private family research journal?
I must take this opportunity to sincerely thank you for responding to my notice and again apologies for the delay in responding to you, it was not intentional. I look forward to hearing from you. It is exciting that we could be related and have found distant family members.
I tried to email you personally at email@example.com but could not find that address.
John ten Cate
