Hi Yasmine

As part of transformation process that the NEW SOUTH AFRICA is undergoing, our household is in the process of interviewing the oldest surviving family members to recover oral history, since it was relayed to us by oral tradition that the 1st Kamedien arrived from the island of Sumatra in 1781 as researched by a family member, the late Dr Achmat Davids.

Most interested in the progress of your black South African genealogical research initiative. Can you keep me posted.
