My 2 x gt grandfather, William Nelson Shilstone died jun 1860, Calcutta. His wife died later that year aged 38.
He had been married before so there were about 6 children aged between 2 and 12. He left a will so seemed to have money. He was not in the military but was a sea captain.
I have no idea if there was any family to look after them so wondered if they were put in an orphanage.
Has any one any ideas?
