My Grandmother's brother, James (Jamie) Reid, married Margaret, a Doctor, in India around the turn of the last century (1900) She was a relative of Sir Francis Wingate, gov. general of the Sudan. James and Margaret had one daughter, Peggy (Margaret, I believe) and in 1908 were in the Sudan. Margaret had had a hospital in her command in India, but in the Sudan was working as a part-time doctor on the Quarantine ships.
If anyone has any information on these people, originally from Scotland, I would appreciate hearing from them. I would also like to know how difficult it is to obtain marriage and birth info from Indian records.
