Can anyone shed any light on why a couple from Cornwall/Devon would go to India for 10+ years in the late 1860's? Peter Lenderyou and Jane Dunn married in Devon, England in 1865. They had at least 4 children in India between 1869 and 1878 and were back in England, in Colchester, by 1880. Peter was listed as a mason's labourer in the 1881 census.
