Hello, George,
I am in Birmingham, AL and have been looking over a friend's genealogy that I have had quite awhile.Intended to help him and time has gotten away.
Saw your query tonight, know that my friends' relatives were from Switzerland. His grandmother was Louisa Inderbitzen b. 1879 in Canada. Her father: Joseph M. Inderbitzen b. 1827 Switzerland. His wife: Mary A. Rose, b. 1829 in Switzerland.
The grandfather of my friend, husband of Louisa was Edward Ashwander, b. 11/1874 in Cullman, AL.His great father was Moritz Ashwander b. 1829 in Switzerland and married in OH. to Maria Trachsel b. 1836 in Frutigen, Switzerland.
Does any of this mean anything to you?Don't know at this time there is anymore info is available, as I haven't told him about the family site. Will certainly do so.Don't think he is online at this time.
Are you familiar with the Cullman, AL, area?It was settled by German/Swiss Immigrants, just north of Birmingham.
