That was a lot of work thank you.In 1901 he was on a hillside in South Africa fighting Boers.I have three stories that I am trying to tie together.
1 At about Christmas 190 he was the only man left standing and only one of two survivors after his unit was attacked by Boers dressed in british army uniforms.Ind was recommended for a VC by his dying captain
2 My greatuncle was in a unit attacked by Boers and the only other survivor of his unit helped their dying captain write his will and in return were given £50 each in the will.
3 Mixture of the above in Arthur Conan Doyles book "The Great Boer War"; mention of the captain Jeffcoat but the characters I was interested in were not mentioned by name.
Great uncle sustained 7 injuries including being shot through a lung but died in the early 1950's.I am trying to get a copy of the will or some information on what happened to IND after the Boer War.He is buried in Cheshire, why?
I will work through the stuff that you have given me and try to locate descendants of other branches of his family. I don't think he had any official descendants/
Thanks again.
