I am searching for some connection to RUSSELL ALLEN who lived in Washington county from 1822-1846. He Married Sarah (Sally) RAY there in 1822, and all their children were born there: Erastus, Alonzo, Thomas, Margaret, Martha, Caroline, Zachariah and possibly others. Russell was a stonemason and had an apprentice during part of that time.
There were many ALLENs in Washington County at the time, but I can not connect RUSSELL to any of them. He was born in Massachusetts in 1795 according to 1850 and subsequent censuses. I believe he died by 1870, in Iowa. I can not trace him from MAssachusetts to Indiana, but the path may have been through Kentucky.
