From "Pioneer Pickings" by Horace Heffren,a collection of newspaper articles published in the Salem Democrat from 1876 to 1881, published 1998, page 94, December 6, 1876:
"Hattabaugh [Jacob]married in 1812, a sister of Col. E. D. Logan, but she was at that time a widow named Jane Spears. She was the mother of John Spears, who is now a very old citizen of Monroe Township, of course a half brother of Warwick Hattabough of this place. Mrs. Hattabough was ten years the senior of Col. Logan and was from Barren County, Kentucky."
I have a rather large file sent by a Washington Co. researcher that has some confusing information regarding Margaret Emaline Robertson who married Milton Shields in 1857 in Washington Co., IN. The file contains information provided by Mrs. Lydia Hilt, Historian of the Wm. Alfred Robertson Family. This file reports Margaret as the daughter of William Robertson and Elizabeth Fleenor. Records indicate the mother of Margaret was Sarah Fleenor, the sister of Elizabeth; both Sarah and Elizabeth were daughters of Abraham Fleenor and Nancy Green. Does your research include any of these? It would be helpful to know if Wm. Robertson had children by both Sarah and Elizabeth or if these have somehow been confused with others with similar names. Please feel free to e-mail me.
