Milo Payne and his wife Elizabeth Carter were married 6-21-1819 in Salem, Washington Co. IN and were the parents of five children:

1. Gilbert Payne
2. Samuel Payne
3. Susan Payne, born 2-18-1822 in Washington Co. IN; married Squire Fleener 2-23-1840 in Washington Co. IN
4. James Abraham Payne, married Sarah Fleener 4-18-1843 in Washington Co. IN; died 12-10-1893 in Washington Co. IN
5. Thomas Payne, born 7-29-1829 in Washington Co. IN; married Chloe Williams 4-12-1849 in Washington Co. IN; died 8-3-1902.

While some researchers do not know who Samuel married, the Indiana statewide marriage index lists a Samuel Payne marrying Susanna Banns in Washington Co. IN 7-4-1840.

It is not known where the father Milo Payne came from, or who his parents were.
