My great-aunt, Eva Kern married John J. Rinkel on 17 November 1901. She was the daughter of Clem Kern and Rose Speirer. Eva lived until 4 June 1960. Rose Speirer was the daughter of Kasper and Barbara (Rumbach) Speirer, who were German immigrants. The Kern and Speirer families lived near St.Rupert's Church or Red Brush a community located north of Yankeetown.
