I really doubt that John was a Quaker...he served in the American Revolution as a Private in the Pennsylvania Militia. I actually show John's birth abt. 1740 in Yorktown York Co., VA. Most Quakers would not bear arms. The John who was married to Naomi Potter and Annie Heddie...his children were as stated in his Will: Eleven names of his twelve children are found in a deed executed by “John Goodwine heirs" to Jacob Heady. (SPENCER CO. KY - Deed Book B pg 469 - 21 February 1834) .Thomas Goodwin, John Goodwine, and Lydia Burch of Spencer County, Kentucky; .Seth Goodwin, William Goodwin, Martha Goodwin, John Griffith and wife Elizabeth of Monroe County, Indiana; .Thomas Heady and wife Rebecca and Abner Goodwine of Putnam County, Indiana; .James Goodwine and heirs of Warren County, Indiana; .Elias Goodwin of Lincoln County, Missouri. My line is John's daughter Lydia Goodwine who married Christopher Burch in Nelson Co. KY. She followed her brother James to Warren Co. IN after her husband died at a very young age. They are all buried in the Goodwine Cemetery that was established in 1844 in Warren Co. IN I have some pics of the tombstones if you have never seen them. We have discussed this family before...but it's great to see that you are still looking for answers like me! Rebecca Notify Administrator about this message?
