Well, this certainly seems to establish that "a" George Hoffman is buried in the Burnett Cemetery, with the dates 29 Apr. 1829 and 15 Sept. 1911. And that he was in the Civil War. But I'm still in the dark as to his parents and his family.
There seem to be two George Hoffmans here, and one of them was the son of Jacob and Mary. One of them was married to Rosetta Clark in 1849, and I don't think it can be the one who's buried in the Burnett Cemetery, because he seems to have moved west between 1850 and 1860, and died before 1880, when Rosetta seems to have been remarried.
I'm leaning towards this George being the son of Jacob and Mary, because their other relatives seem to have traveled with his family. But if that's the case, then the George Hoffman buried in the Burnett Cemetery was a different George.
Thanks for your help!
