Sorry, I am not familiar with the Clark family you mentioned in the 1880 Census. As for the Alex Scott in the 1860 Census, at this time, I do not think he is connected with the Scott branch I am tracing, but this could change as more information is researched.
The Scott family I am tracing in Vigo County, IN arrived before 1894 from Kentucky. I have one line in Vigo County verified, but I have yet to uncover how it came to be that they traveled to Indiana from Kentucky. I am not sure if another family member travelled ahead and they "caught up" or if others (non family) from Kentucky went to Vigo County and they just followed along. The name Alexander does not appear often in this Scott line; however, there may be an Alexander in the early history that is a as yet unverified brother.
Do the Pratt, Forbus, Deters or Mindrup names mean anything in your research?
