James,
I have been trying to locate information on my Wheat line, but can't find anything on them prior to being located in Clay Co., IL in the late 1800's. My great grandmother once mentioned Merrell/Merrill Wheat being located in Riley. I have always thought it was Riley Co., but wasn't sure of the state. Now I am wondering if she didn't mean, Riley, Vigo Co., IN instead. I see you have some information on Wheats in Vigo Co.,IN and thought I would give you a shot. I just recently found out that a ggreat grandmother named Martha Persinger married Merrell Wheat. She had a portrait taken in Seymour, IN, but there is no date written on the back of the picture. It had to be the early to middle 1800's, if I had to make a guess. Can you help out with my Wheat line? Thank you so much for your time!
Teresa Dix
