F.M. Ellis, 1906

F.M. Ellis signed/witnessed the marriage license application of my grandparents, Thomas Clark and Abbie Creal in Terre Haute, Vigo County, in September 1906. I'm curious because my father's name was Wilbur Ellis Clark, and I always wondered where the "Ellis" came from. He may have worked for American Express. Does he sound familiar to anyone? Thanks.
