There were two orphanages in TERRE HAUTE since 1900. They were the Chauncey Rose and the Glenn Home. Both has long since been closed, and I have been told (my husband was at the Glenn home) that some of the records can be located at the Vigo County Welfare Dept. and that some churches have records from some of the children that attended there. If you know of any faith they may have been, I can give u some address of the churches around here. St. Mary's is a college, but they also have done much over the years in relation to orphans and to elderly sisters. The Vigo County Historical Society and the Vigo County Library both have excellent web pages with a lot of information and contacts.
