Carter Families in Vermillion

Are any of these names familiar?

Census records, some matched to marriage records:
(Note: Most names are from indexes. I searched some of the actual censuses but not all. Some names could have been missed.)

Carter, Nicholas - Over age 45. Had 5 sons and one daughter.

Carter, Absolem - Perryville, m. Sidney Chenoweth 1833
Carter, Nicholas - Helt Twp
Carter, Squire - Helt Twp., m. Martha Smith 1839, m. Mariah Jackson, 1843

Carter, Jeremiah - Helts Township - Age 25, b. Indiana, m. Nancy E. Howard 1850
Carter, Joseph - Eugene Township - tailor, living with someone else, no family, age 58, born in PA.
Carter, Sidney - Perryville -Age 36, b. Ohio. She and her family were living with John Chenoweth,
Carter, Susannah - Helts Township - Age 60, born in GA, living with John and Julia Lewis. Benjamin Carter age 10, with same family.( John Lewis m. Julia Carter 1849 per marriage database)

Carter, Abraham - Holt Twp. (Is this Helt?)
Carter, Sidney - Perryville

The following Carters had land patents in Vermillion County. Some of them were not in any Vermillion census. The name is followed by the patent date:
Benjamin - 1837, James - 1837, Nicholas - 1835 and 1837, Solomon - 1835 and 1837, Squire - 1839.

Other marriages:
Carter, Harriett m. Blakesley, Obediah Mar 27 1828
Carter, Elizabeth m. Southard, Fielding Feb 19 1832
Carter, Benjamin m. Schooling, Cynthia Aug 15 1833
Carter, Peggy Ann m. Miller, David Mar 07 1838
(Note: "Margrit " and David Miller lived next to my James Carter in Jasper Co. IL in 1850)
Carter, Abraham m. Tullis, Martha Elizabet Jun 28 1842
Carter, Tobias M. m. Ryerson, Phebe Aug 19 1849

I'm almost positive that James, whose land patent was in Eugene Twp, is my ancestor.
I need information about the other Carters in Vermillion County. Trying to determine if any of them were related to James!
