Robert,

Fron which of Fanny's children are you descended?

It appears that Fanny married Jacob H. Long about 5-6 months after William Fritz died. She and William had five children, John Franklin, Josiah Martin, Samuel Hiram, Catherine Margaret, and Roseanna. This we verified through William's bible and his CW papers. Fanny and Jacob had at least three children, Albert, Martha, and Monroe. This info came from the 1870 census for Dixon, Lee County, IL. I have not determined what drew them to Illinois, and the Iowa connection is even more of a mystery.

Somehow, Fanny's second son, Josiah Martin Fritz, met and married Katherine Elsie Smith in Linn County, Iowa April 15, 1877. It appears they returned to Dixon for awhile as their first child, Albert, was born there in 1879. Eighteen months later their second child was born in Linn County, Iowa. It looks like the rest of their eight children were also born in Iowa, although I'm not positive about a couple.

Happy to share more. Just e-mail me direct at annmm@fuse.net.

Ann
