Mrs. Olive Elizabeth Broyles, 78, widow of Thomas Broyles, died at 5 o'clock Monday morning at the home of her daughter, Cordova, Mrs. Lawrence Jansen, 1312 West Sycamore street. She had been in ill health more than four years and in a serious condition the last four months with a heart disorder and complications. The deceased was born August 29, 1871, south of Sharpsville, the daughter of Noah and Elizabeth Franklin Bland. She and Mr. Broyles were married in 1896 and he died in 1928. She lived in Tipton county until moving to Kokomo 17 years ago. She attended the Sharpsville and Swingtown schools and as a young woman was a music teacher. She was a member of the Main Street Methodist church. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Jansen and Miss Iva Grace Broyles of Kokomo and Mrs. Charles Grayson of Sharpsville route 2; one son, Ross G. Broyles, Sharpsville; two sisters, Mrs. Lewis Kirtley, Parker, Ind., and Mrs. Lucy Nash, Chico, Calif., 10 grandchildren, one great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews. The body is at the Warren funeral home in Sharpsville where friends may call after 6 o'clock Monday night.
