My husband's great-great-grandfather was Henry Dugan who lived in Tipton Co., Indiana for a number of years. Supposedly Henry was born between 1812-17 in Butler Co., OH. We know he was married in 1845 to Mary Applegate, a widow, in Franklin Co., IN. Sometime after that, they moved to Tipcon Co.

Mary died in 1875 and is buried in Chandler Cemetery, Howard Co., IN. Henry died in 1902 at the county infirmary (poor house) and is buried in an unmarked grave in the Tipton City Cemetery.

Children with Mary Applegate Dugan were Eda, Mary, Margaret, Henry Clay and Zachariah Taylor Dugan. In the 1880 census in Tipton Co., he is listed with Mary Willso and a child, Christopher C. We know that he had sons Christopher Columbus and Winfield Scott Dugan by a woman named Mary (possibly Cantner or Kentner). Not sure of a marriage to this woman.

If anyone has information regarding this family, we would greatly appreciate your contacting us.
