My mother is the granddaughter of Rose (sometimes Rosa or Rosina) Pfeifer Bower. Grandma Rose was the sister of Amelia. My mother remembers her Aunt Amelia and Uncle John from her childhood. I wrote you a message on your posting about the Burkle family, but will post one here, too. I would love to read your letters from Aunt Amelia. Can you fax, email or mail me copies? In the mid-1970's my mother and father (he was in the Army) lived at Ft. Lewis in Washington state. She tells me they visited some relatives of Grandma Rose (accompanied by my mother's mother), and I wonder if this is your family. My brother and I were small at the time we lived at Ft. Lewis. My mother's father (Leonard Pfeifer Bower) is the son of Grandma Rose. He was deceased at the time my family visited the relatives of my Grandpa Bower and Great Grandma Rose in Washington state.
