Judy,

My Henry French's birth location is up-in-the-air. I have 4 different indicators ... Wales ENG., PA., OH., & TN.
The strongest possibilities are Wales England & Ohio.

I just learned of that Jacob French last year from an 1820 IN. Census Index. He likely was a cousin, brother, or even father to my Henry. Those two are the only Frenchs shown then for Sullivan Co. Indiana.
And guess what, a Jacob & Henry French are the only Frenchs shown in early marriages of Pertle Co., Ohio. And they both married girls of the same last name (Howard) about a year apart in 1808 / '09.
That was back when some were changing last name spellings from Howard to Hayworth or Haworth.

My Henry's wife's name was Hester Hayworth.
But that Pertle Co., OH. marriage rec., it shows a Henry French married a Esther Howard (likely Hester). And I believe this is my Henry's marriage record. I have just found this in the past month.

Now on the 1820 IN. Census Image that you saw, you listed a David Howard (likely living nearby to my Henry). I bet this was a relative of my Hester. I'll have to keep an eye out for him in my searching.

It's a "small world" per se. I'm glad you posted a response ... it has given me some more search leads on migrating familys.

............Don...........
