I know who some of these people are.

The Griswold Phelps who died in 1862 (of pneumonia, while in the army) was the son of Griswold and Rhoda (Squier) Phelps. When spelling firmed up, Rhoda's family name stabilized as "Squier."

The Rhoda Phelps who married John Whaley was very likely a daughter of Griswold and Rhoda (Squier) Phelps.
