I am reseaching the Montgomery families of Shelby County Indiana. By 1850 there are at least two, one from Scott County KY and another from Wayne county IN (mine).
There are several individuals born in TN and married in Shelby County.
James M. Montgomery born about 1815 who married Mary Jane Montgomery of the KY family and moved to Polk County Iowa by 1850
Rebecca Montgomery born about 1822 who married Robert M. Montgomery, he is also of the KY family.
Melinda Montgomery born 1827 and married Wm Applegate.
There are two James Montgomerys about the same age in the 1850 census. One born about 1800 in KY wife Elizabeth.
The other born about 1792 in PA wife Jane born TN. This James could be part of the Wayne County family.
Would like to here from others interested in these families.
