Stifflers in Rush Co?
Posted by: Kathy Egan Date: October 07, 2000 at 19:26:38

A Stiffler family of Rush Co. adopted my gg grandmother, Helen Gertrude (Nellie) Dooley after the death of her mother, Sarah, in Connorsville, Fayette Co, in 1869. They came west with the Stevens Wagon party in the 1870s. The fate of her father, Newton Dooley, is unknown. All we know is that he sold his property in Connorsville that same year, but doesn't appear in any census there. Any info regarding remaining Stifflers or Dooleys would be appreciated.
