Cook family early 1820's & 1830's
I have been documenting my Cook line in Rush County and have found 2 distinct separate John Cook's during the 1820's and 1830's. One lived in Richland Twp area while the other lived in the Washington Twp area. One John had a middle initial of "C" and he is the one who lived in Washington Twp.
I have documented proof of the children of John and Mary Ann Simmons Cook (my line) who lived in Richland Twp. They are: Elizabeth Cook b 1803 m John Hatfield; Unknown Son b 1805 died young; Henry Cook b 1806 m Jane Susan Neff; John Cook b 1808 m Elizabeth Miller; Solomon Cook b 1812 m Elizabeth Bishop; Daniel Cook b 1813 m Hannah Bishop; Sarah Cook b 1815 m William Nichols; Samuel Cook b 1816 m Mahala Bishop; Unknown female b 1817 died young; Mary Ann Cook b 1819 m Austin Miller; James Madison Cook b 1821 m #1 Martha Nichols #2 Abigail Haines #3 Jennie Foland; Harrison Cook b 1824 m Margaret Robinson; Unknown Sex Cook b ca 1826 died young; Peter Simmons Cook b 1828 m Elizabeth Jones and Eli Cook b 1829 m Martha Jane Jones.
John and Mary Ann Cook had 15 children but only 12 lived to adulthood and these above 12 children have now been documented. 5 of these children went west to Illinois; the Bishop girls are sisters; Elizabeth and Austin Miller are siblings; still proving the relationship of the Nichols.
If you are descended from any of these children, I would love to share with you what we have learned.
