Hi Arlene. I'm descended from Melvin Hungerford and his first wife, Sarah Elizabeth Willey. She died in 1855. I do have info on the union between Melvin and Sarah Knapp, including some of their descendants. I also have some detail on Sarah and her siblings, and did have Israel married to Mary Pattison.
I will send more of what I have to your email address. While I'm not descended form Beverly or Sarah Knapp, I have researched them to the extent that they cross paths with the Rush County Hungerfords. I have a copy of the research my granddad Paul Hungerford compiled some 40 years ago, and I have set out to capture that history in modern format and bring it forward as correct as I have been able to do.
I am interested in your thoughts on the spelling for Pattison/Patterson. Are they essentially the same surname whose preferred spelling has been simplified in some lines and not others? Do they all evolve from one or the other? I'm very curious about that.
Bill
