Hi Marilyn My GGG Grandfather, was Joel Shelton. He was born in Virginia. Migrated to Granger County, Tennessee as a young boy, with his family. He was born June 30, 1782. On July 13, 1802 he married Elizabeth Phillips. By 1803 they had moved to Preble County, Ohio with Elizabeth's parents. My GG Grandfather David was born there July 1, 1803. Joel & Elizabeth had 10 more children, all born in Preble County, Ohio. Joel was in the Ohio Milita during the War of 1812. In 1826 Joel got two land grants in Rush County, Indiana. He got another in 1830. David his first child got one in 1834. Besides David, Joel & Elizabeth's children were, Susannah, Catherine, Elizabeth, Anna, Jane, Lydia, Ralph, Delila, John & Mary. Son David & Eizabeth Gard had children Phebe Ann, Sophia, Ralph, John, Elizabeth, Sarah, Delila, & David Drummond.
