Hi Mike:
I am working on the Wilson's in Rush County, specifically Reuben Wilson who appears on the 1850 census in Posey Township, age 13, living with John Wilson and Delilah Shelton Wilson. Reuben left Rush County, moving to Coles County, Illinois. He married Ellen Hoskins in 1857, but he died before 1870. Ellen remarried Thomas Kitchens in 1872 -- and I couldn't help but notice the Kitchen or Kitchens name in Rush County before 1850. I believe Reuben Wilson's family knew the Kitchens family fairly well, living in the same areas. Thomas Kitchens' father was Eli Ephraim Kitchens, born 1810 in Tennessee, moved to Clark Co., Illinois -- then to Coles Co., Illinois. Do you have any connection with Coles County, Illinois, in your family papers? Oh, and by the way, I have seen this name listed as Kitchen and Kitchens. Not sure what is correct.
Also, there is another lady working on the Kitchen line -- Sandy Schartz. Please let me know if you need her e-mail.
Thanks,
Carol Gould
