He was married to Nancy Jane ROUTH, May 8th, 1853. To this union were born nine children, five boys and four girls. One boy, Charlie Kimble, preceded him to the better land, June 14th 1888, when only 17 years of age. His wife preceded him Dec. 30, 1873. He was married to Priscilla A. CANINE, April 13, 1877. He was a hard working man, a good financier and a kind and obligated neighbor. He started in life a poor boy with no money only as he made it himself. But by diligence and persevering he became one amongst the prosperous farmers of our country.
He united with the Christian church at Ladoga in 1854, then moved his membership to Fountain Church till the church was build at New Ross when he moved his membership there, to which he remained a faithful and consistant (sic) member to his death. He was always ready to help his country, church or neighbor in any worthy cause.
He contracted a mild case of typhoid fever some seven or eight weeks ago, which caused his death. He leaves a wife, two sisters, one brother, five sons, nine daughters, forty-two grandchildren and twenty-five great grandchildren, besides a host of friends to mourn his death. The funeral was preached at the Christian church by Elder Hedrick, Monday afternoon, and the remains were taken to Mace and there laid to rest.
