In Memory of Levi Jessup: Levi, son of Jonathan and Mary Jessup, was born Oct 23, 1851 in Blue River Township, Hancock County, Indiana.
He was born and reared on the farm, and in choosing his life's work, selected the occupation of his father and all the years of his life toiled arduously tilling the fertile soil of Blue River township and being a successful business man, acquired considerable property.
He was converted in early life under the preaching of Rufus King, being that time a member of Western Grove Friends Church.
January 22, 1873, he was united in marriage with Mary Ann Binford, and to this happy family was given one daughter, Iola. They began housekeeping on the farm where they have always resided in Blue River township.
The church at Walnut Ridge used him in various positions of trust and responsibility, as elder, overseer, and trustee.
After an illness of several months, his earthly work closed March 2, 1922, aged 70 years, 4 months, and 9 days.
He leaves to mourn their loss, his beloved wife, the daughter Iola Stafford; one brother, Josiah Jessup of Whittier, Cal.; two sisters, Eunice Hill, Wichita, Kan., and Mary Ann Parnell, of Greenfield; a son-in-law, Merritt Stafford; two little granddaughters, Thelma and Mildred Stafford, and many friends.

The blessings of his quiet life
Follow us like the dew,
And good thoughts where his footsteps pressed,
Like fairy blossoms grew.
