We have been researching our Gantz family for more than 35 years. We are very interested in finding the descendants of our ancestors, Joseph Gantz (b. 1811 in Black Forest, Germany) and Elizabeth Ann (French) Gantz (b. 1815 in NJ). They moved to Indiana about 1835, we believe. Their chilldren:
Hester (b.1836-d.1836)
Lorenzo (b.1838) m. Sarah McCamish
Samuel (b. 1838) m. Martha Jane McCracken
Hannah (b.1840) m. John W. McCamish
John W. (b. 1841-d.1862)
George (b. 1845-d.1850)
Elizabeth Jane (b.1846) m. Lewis Bockoven
Sarah (b.1848-d.1850)
Francis (Frank) (b.1850) m. Catherine Bockoven
Joseph Newton (b.1853) m. Mary J. Stevens
Benjamin Franklin (b.1855) m. Sarah Jane Ullom
Amanda Melvina (b. 1857) m. Charles Green
Phoebe Josephine (b.1859) m. Emanuel Zimmerman.

We are especially anxious to find the descendants of Lorenzo ("Ranz") Gantz. He married Sarah Elizabeth McCamish (dau. of William McCamish and Martha Elizabeth Gray) March 30, 1865 in Randolph Co., IN. Their children:
Elmira (b.1865) m. Elmer Thornburg
Martha (b.1867) m. William Allie (Al) Taylor
Pearl m. Joe Ulmer
Rosella m. George Zimmerman
Bertha V. m. Samuel Booher (our grandparents)
John W. Gantz (b.1874-d.1891)
Baby Daughter (b.1876-d.1876)
Arzola (b.1879-d.1879)
Baby Daughter (b.1880-d.1880)
Everett (b.1886) m. Inez Addington & Ora Kirkpatrick - no natural children.

If you are a descendant or have any information about these families, we would like to hear from you. Thanks. Don
