William remarried on 24 Aug 1882 and on 1880 census he was living with his mother and 2 children with no wife present in the home but he was listed as married.

Regarding Samantha, how do you know:
"They lived in Putnam, Indiana from about 1874 - 1908 that i can confirm, but may of been a little earlier & later. I know they were in Putnamville from abt 1899 - 1905."
and
"Death sometime after 27 Jun 1905 in Putnamville, Putnam, Indiana"

You can find Williams family in the 1850 census, they are 2 households before Samantha's in Rockcastle Co., KY

Ellender/Eleanor had 3 children with 2 living stated on the 1900 census. William and Elijah were alive so Leander/Lee must have died by 1900.
