BARBER, BEARDSLEY, BROWNELL, CARL, CUMMINGS ?, GOODRICH - NY, PA, IL, IN

Looking for a connection of the CUMMINGS Family to that of the BARBER Family, among a bazillion other things!

It's possible that my ELIZABETH (BETSY/BETSEY), BARBER's maiden surname may be that of CUMMINGS. She was born about 1813/1814. Married GRANT BARBER of New York, also born about 1813/1814.

Also looking for a possible connection of a EMMA CARL who may have been married to Grant prior to Elizabeth. OR possibly Emma and ELizabeth are one and the same. A middle name or such.

They resided mostly in Steuben County New York, but also in St. Lawrence County New York, Chemung Co., New York and Tioga Pennsylvania.

Grant and Elizabeth had several children. A daughter Harriet married John GOODRICH, and three other children married three BROWNELL siblings, whose parent's were IRA D. & ELIZA BROWNELL.

One son, Charles W. Barber went to live in Posey County, Indiana. Daughter Amanda FRENCH went to Chicago Illinois, daughter Harriet GOODRICH went to Tioga PA, for some time before moving to Chicago Illinois.

It's also possible that Grant may be connected to a JAMES B. BARBER & CATHERINE BEARDSLEY BARBER. Possibly his parents???? This is just speculation at this point.

Any bells going off on these families? Please let me know. No matter how small!

Thanks!
Patti
