I have some data from 1820-1830-1840-1850-1860 censuses from which I have created a hypothesis that needs to be supported or not. I hope some one can help.
In 1820 Amos Way was counted in Dearborn couty, Lawrenceburg, Indiana. residence or page # was 098, at the same time Phillip Way was in #99 as was Issac Way.
In 1830, Amos Way was at #212, Phillip was at #213 and William Way was at #212 with Amos.
In 1840, Amos was not counted in Indiana. But William Way was in Black township, Posey county, Indiana at residence #283. Phillip was in Vanderburg county, Perry & Union townships. Close proximity to William. With William was Elijah Way, about 25 at the time.
In 1850, William was not counted. However Elijah and Phillip show up on the same page (#190) in Posey County, Black township where William had been 10 years before. Elijah was possibly blind. With Philip was Issac, age 25 and wife.
In 1860 only Elijah and his wife show up but in Marrs township this time.
Here is my hypothesis. (A) Amos is the father of Phillip, Isaac, and William. (B) William is the father of Elijah.
By the way, Amos may have come from Chatham County, NC. (1800 and 1810 censuses)
Can any body please support this or disprove it. I just returned from Posey county and could not find a single record other the above census data. I walked a dozen grave yards and could not find a Way.
