I am very interested in your information on the Rhodes Cemetery or anything else you might know about connections between the Rhodes family and Morris, Masterson, Edwards and other related families. Thank you for your willingness to share the results of your hard work.

My gggrandfather's name is William Rhodes Morris b. abt 1860 s/o James C. Morris and Mary Polly Masterson d/o William Masterson and Celia Edwards. No one in our family has been able to find James C.'s parents, siblings, or relatives except his direct descendants. I've wondered for a long time why James and Mary gave their son the surname Rhodes as a middle name.

My grandfather told me that William was born in Birdseye, Dubois, IN, but I have found their family in Spencer Co., IN in 1860 US Census and Perry County, IN in 1870 & 1880 US Census. James C. owned land in Galey's Landing.

William's name implies some relationship, either directly or though friendship. The only Rhodes connection I've found so far is that William Rhodes Morris's sister married Reuben Patrick s/o Jesse Patrick and Susanna Rhodes. The one source I've found on Susanna Rhodes is an Ancestry.com tree submitted by Daniel Houser which gives her birth as 28 Dec 1853 in Crawford Co, Indiana. I'm wondering who her parents and family were.

Reuben and Susanna seem to have lived in Crawford Co, IN most of their lives. One source, interestingly, has Reuben Patrick b. 1858 in Birdseye, Dubois, IN.

Looking forward to hearing from you.
